About Daniil

(Think Daniel with a Russian accent.)

Aviation has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My grandmother's home faced an airfield where I grew up watching YAK-52s and AN-2s fly overhead, and the street I lived on was named after Soviet ace Kamozin. Growing up around airplanes launched my early interest in flying.

I've made over 3,500 jumps (more than 2,000 as an instructor) and have been teaching skydiving since 2018.

I began my flight training in 2021. I have flown a Cessna 150/152/172/182, Piper Archer, Beechcraft Duchess, Diamond DA42 and many other types.

I am eager to share my experience and knowledge as a CFI. Let's fly together.

FAQ

  • The best way to start is with a Discovery Flight — a first lesson where you’ll take the controls with a certified instructor and see what it feels like to be a pilot.

  • To become a private pilot, you must be at least 17 years old, able to read, speak, and understand English, and pass a medical examination. You must also complete a minimum of 40 hours of flight time, including 20 hours of flight instruction and 10 hours of solo flight.

  • No prior flying experience is required. You’ll start with the basics, and our instructors guide you step by step

  • Training time depends on your schedule, weather, and progress. On average, most students complete their license in 6–12 months

  • The FAA requires a minimum of 40 flight hours for a Private Pilot License, but most students take closer to 60–70 hours to feel fully prepared

  • Costs vary depending on how often you fly and the type of aircraft used. On average, training for a Private Pilot License ranges from $8,000–$11,000

  • Yes, you’ll need at least a Third-Class FAA Medical Certificate from an FAA-approved doctor before flying solo.
No, you don’t need a medical exam if you decide to obtain a Sport Pilot License

  • Flying 2–3 times per week helps you progress quickly and retain skills. Training less often is possible but may take longer overall

  • With a PPL, you can:

        •    Fly friends and family

        •    Rent aircraft

        •    Travel for fun or personal use

(You cannot be paid to fly passengers — that requires further certification.)

  • Many pilots continue on to earn their Instrument Rating or Commercial Pilot License if they want to fly in more conditions or pursue a professional career.

  • You can start training at almost any age! The FAA requires you to be at least 16 to solo and 17 to get your PPL. There’s no upper age limit, as long as you can meet the medical requirements.
